“I Have A Dream” ® of Atlanta, Inc. – A. D. Williams Chapter (IHAD) was launched in 2001 with the adoption of 60 randomly selected 2nd grade students attending A. D. Williams Elementary school in Atlanta. The A. D. Williams Chapter was founded and continues to be supported by a collaboration between Ebenezer Baptist Church and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The chapter will work with the same 60 Dreamers for duration of the project, projected to end in 2018 when the last dreamer completes his/her undergraduate education.
IHAD reached a mile stone in the project when Bobby Daniels received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Tuskegee University on May 6, 2016. Bobby is the first dreamer to complete a 4-year degree program. Bobby, a member of Ebenezer and one whom Rev. Warnock mentors, graduated with honors and will pursue a law degree in the future.
At its annual awards luncheon, held on May 21, 2016 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church the dreamers were celebrated for their accomplishments during the 2015 – 2016 school term.
