Azuria Beeks is a graduate of Creekside High School, where she was an active participant in school activities, such as Future Business Leaders of America, a program which prepares students for business careers and assist with projects which contribute to the improvement of the community, a writer for the Creekside newsletter, JROTC Platoon Sergeant, and also a member of Golden Essence Dance Team. Azuria became a member of Ebenezer in 2010 and has been an industrious dedicated member of the Youth and Dance ministries. After becoming an active participant, she believes that Ebenezer has helped mold her into the young talented leader she is today. Ms. Beeks was the first Junior Co-Chair of Women’s Day and a participant in the 2016 Martin Luther King Commemorative Service. Ms. Beeks will be attending Alabama State University in the Fall of 2016, studying Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. She is a proud member of the Reed family. And above all she manages to put God first.
Kirsten Emma Hughes is the daughter of The Rev. Walter and Mary Hughes and a graduate of Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia. Through several opportunities, Kirsten has had experiences of a lifetime that included travel to domestic and foreign locations. As a bassoonist in the Collins Hill Symphonic Winds Band, Kirsten has twice attended the University of Georgia’s High School JanuaryFest for music excellence and played with the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival at Oglethorpe University; as an Older Girl Scout, Kirsten was a girl delegate at the 51st Triennial Girl Scouts USA National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, a Destinations Traveler to Madison, Wisconsin, and an international traveler to the country of India. At Ebenezer Kirsten has participated in almost all Children’s and Youth Ministries – Children’s Choir, Youth Choir, Girl Scouts, Dance Ministry, Drama Ministry, A.D. Williams King Chapel for Children (Junior Minister), Youth Group, Youth Usher Board, Church School, and Vacation Bible School/Summer Bible Enrichment. Having a love of choral music, Kirsten has also sung with Harmony – Atlanta’s International Youth Choir and the Ebenezer’s Celebration Choir. Additional activities in high school included Captain of the Marching Band Color Guard and Winter Guard, Relay for Life Executive Planning Team, and Treasurer of the Student Government Association. Kirsten’s passion of being a Girl Scout empowered her to earn the highest award, the Girl Scout Gold Award. Her project was a series of Gentle Worship Services for Families of Children and Adults with Special Needs. Kirsten will continue her education at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama as a Nursing major.
Kayla Nicole Reynolds is the daughter of Carita Reynolds, the granddaughter of Ollie and Wynelle Willingham, cousin of late Dorothy Banks and the great granddaughter of the late Deacon Mursel Turner. She is a graduate of Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School, where she was second runner up for Ms. Maynard Jackson High School. She participated on the Jazzy Jaguars Dance Team, and played Golf. Kayla was golf MVP her junior and senior year at Maynard. While growing up at Ebenezer, Kayla participated, in the Girl Scouts, Dance Ministry, Children’s and Youth Choirs, and Children’s Chapel, Kayla will be attending either Stillman College or the University of West Georgia.
Kenneth Russell Laster, Jr., son of Kenneth and Emma Laster and grandson of The late Deacon Lucius Laster and Dora Laster, is a 2016 high school graduate at The Walker School in Marietta, Georgia. Kenneth has been a member of Ebenezer for nine years. During his high school years Kenneth participated in numerous organizations to include the following: The Student Diversity Group, Peer Leadership, and The Walker School Discipline Committee. He enjoys acting and served as president of his high school Thespian Society for two consecutive years. Kenneth will be attending Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Keyshawn Sneed is a graduate of Riverwood International Chartered High School, with a 3.7 grade point average. Keyshawn was a member of the following: Future Business Leaders of America, The Real Men Cook, Riverwood Band, Ebenezer’s Youth Group and LINKS, the Ebenezer Kitchen Staff, and the Community Outreach Committee projects. Keyshawn is a member of Ebenezer’s Instrumental Ensemble, under the leadership of Mr. Robert Bryant. Keyshawn is the Son of Rosland F. and Zibaska L. Sneed. He’s the Grandson of Dr. & Mrs. J. L. Sneed of Albany, GA. In the fall, Keyshawn plans to attend Georgia State University with a major in Pre Medicine.
